It was his first victory since he successfully defended his title at the 2014 CIMB Classic in Malaysia. Martin, who carded a 62 in round three, made a run at Moore on the back nine with three consecutive birdies through No. 14, but he could manage only four pars at the finish.

LAST YEAR: Brittany Lang captured her first major title and second LPGA Tour victory by three strokes over Anna Nordqvist of Sweden in a three-hole aggregate playoff. The Swede was assessed a decisive two-stroke penalty on the second extra hole at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, Calif. After both players parred the first playoff hole, Nordqvist's club head slightly contacted the sand before she started her backswing while playing from a bunker on the second extra hole. Lang and Nordqvist both recorded pars on the hole, but after viewing replays, officials assessed the penalty against Nordqvist, who missed a short par putt on the last playoff hole after being informed of the ruling. Lang closed with a 1-under-par 71, and Nordqvist caught her with a 67.
