COL FB: Alabama 42, Auburn 12

AUBURN, Ala., Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Trent Richardson racked up a career-high 203 rushing yards for second-ranked Alabama Saturday in a 42-12 pounding of Auburn in their annual Iron Bowl rivalry.

Richardson also caught a 5-yard TD pass from AJ McCarron, who hurled three scoring strikes in all en route to 184 yards in an 18-of-23 passing performance.

The Crimson Tide (11-1, 7-1 SEC) strengthened their claim on the No. 2 position in the BCS rankings and won a third straight game following their only loss of the year -- a Nov. 5 defeat to top-ranked Louisiana State.

Brad Smelley hauled down six passes for 86 yards and a score while Kenny Bell made two grabs for 46 yards and a touchdown for the Tide, who lost 28-27 at home to Auburn last year.

Clint Moseley led the Tigers (7-5, 4-4), going 11-of-18 through the air for 62 yards and an interception.
