COL FB: Alabama 45, Georgia Southern 21

TUSCALOOSA, Ala., Nov. 19 (UPI) -- AJ McCarron hurled a trio of touchdown passes and Trent Washington scored twice Saturday in third-ranked Alabama's 45-21 victory over Georgia Southern.

McCarron went 14-of-19 through the air for 190 yards and Richardson rambled for 175 yards on 32 carries as the Crimson Tide (10-1) and helped their national championship hopes with their fourth consecutive 10-win season.

The Tide benefited when second-ranked Oklahoma State was upset Friday at Iowa State, leaving Louisiana State as the nation's sole unbeaten squad.

Southern Conference winner Georgia Southern (9-2) was led by Dominique Swope, who ran for 153 yards and a score on 18 carries.
