COL BKB: Michigan 79, UCLA 63

LAHAINA, Hawaii, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- A career-best 22 points by Zack Novak Wednesday helped No. 15 Michigan pull away down the stretch to defeat UCLA 79-63.

The Wolverines (5-1) won third place in the eight-team Maui Invitational.

Novak made 7-of-8 shots from the field and 4-of-5 from the line while Michigan was hitting 61 percent of its shots overall.

Tim Hardaway added 20 points and Jon Horford chipped in 12 off the bench.

The Wolverines had only a six-point lead with 12:30 to play before slowly opening their advantage.

Travis Wear led UCLA (1-4) with 16 points. All of the Bruins' losses this season have been by at least 10 points.
