Stars line up for Spirit Awards show

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Organizers of Film Independent's 2008 Spirit Awards said dozens of Hollywood's biggest stars are planning to attend the upcoming show in Santa Monica, Calif.

Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight Schrute on the television series "The Office," is set to serve as master of ceremonies at Saturday's awards show, which honors the previous year's best in independent film.

Award-winning actor Javier Bardem was named the event's honorary chairman and will serve as a special presenter.

Also expected to appear at the gala are Alan Arkin, Javier Bardem, Jason Bateman, Kate Beckinsale, Ed Begley Jr., Maria Bello, Cate Blanchett, Zach Braff, Maggie Cheung, Patricia Clarkson, Bryan Cranston, Kimya Dawson, Matt Dillon, Aaron Eckhardt,

Shareeka Epps, Colin Firth, David Alan Grier, Jon Hamm, Glenn Hansard, Marketa Irglova, Josh Hartnett, Dawn Hudson, Felicity Huffman, Allison Janney, Lisa Kudrow, Eva Mendes, Metal Skool, Ellen Page, Dennis Quaid, Keri Russell, Julian Schnabel, Kerry Washington, John Waters, Forest Whitaker, Tom Wilkinson and Steve Zahn.

The Spirit Awards show is to air live on IFC at 5 p.m. EST Saturday.
