April 1 (UPI) -- Even though we are now two months removed from Clemson's dramatic national championship victory against Alabama, it's still too soon in Tuscaloosa.

Former Tigers quarterback Deshaun Watson found that out the hard way recently when he decided to go to a bar adjacent to the Crimson Tide campus.

The Heisman Trophy finalist and national championship MVP was profiled on social media Friday for getting the road treatment after stopping into Inisfree Irish Pub. The pub is just a mile from Bryant-Denny Stadium, the Tide's home field.

Watson, who is projected as a first round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, completed 36-of-56 passes for 420 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions in the Jan. 9 title game. He also ran for 43 yards and a touchdown. His last-second touchdown pass ended the Tide's season in dramatic fashion and sealed his fate as a top prospect.

But the junior from Gainesville, Georgia was shown no respect and promptly told to leave the bar by a hoard of Crimson Tide fans, according to social media posts and videos. As he was leaving the pub, one fan apologized and said it was sad and rude that others were telling Watson to leave just because he played for Clemson.

One of the customers who told Watson to leave was later kicked out, according to the bar's social media pages.

"Unfortunately a customer attempted to invoke the right to refuse service on our behalf and after being identified, was immediately asked to leave the premises following the incident," the bar wrote on Facebook. "We apologize for any inconvenience this incident caused to our customers. We appreciate anyone that chooses to visit our establishment and hope to continue welcoming sports fans for years to come."

Several social media users claimed that two of the men seen in the video are linebacker Ryan Anderson and former Crimson Tide star Wallace Gilberry. The users said that the duo helped kick the quarterback out of the bar.

Some mock drafts have Watson being picked as high as No. 6 by the New York Jets or No. 7 by the Los Angeles Chargers.
