Jimbo Fisher agreed to a contract extension with Florida State that will run through the 2024 season, the school announced Monday. Fisher, 51, is in his seventh season as head coach of the Seminoles and has compiled a 77-17 record, including a 9-3 mark this season.

While the school did not announce financial terms of the agreement, Florida State mentioned Fisher will remain "one of college football's highest paid coaches."
"Coach Fisher has done an outstanding job in leading our football program, and is clearly one of the top coaches in college football," Florida State vice president and director of athletics Stan Wilcox said in a statement.
"He is committed to maintaining the elite status of FSU football and we are fortunate and proud to secure him for the long term."
Under Fisher, the Seminoles have gone to seven straight bowl games and went 14-0 with Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston while winning the 2013 BCS National Championship against Auburn.
From 2012-14, Florida State lost only three times in 42 games.
The Seminoles never won fewer than nine games in a season during Fisher's tenure. Before taking over for retiring legendary coach Bobby Bowden, Fisher served as Florida State's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2007-09.
"Florida State is a special place and I look forward to continuing to build on our past success into the future," Fisher said.
The Seminoles face Michigan in the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30.
