The Indianapolis Colts placed defensive tackle Arthur Jones on injured reserve Monday due to a groin injury.

The 6-foot-3, 320-pound Jones started all eight games he appeared in this season and made 30 tackles. He has been in 63 career NFL games (31 starts), totaling 172 tackles, 10 sacks and two forced fumbles.

Jones, 30, was signed by Indianapolis as an unrestricted free agent on March 13, 2014. He was suspended the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

To take Jones' roster spot, the Colts promoted defensive end Kristjan Sokoli from the practice squad.

The 6-5, 300-pound Sokoli was signed to the Colts' practice squad on Sept. 26. He was originally selected as an offensive lineman by the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Sokoli played in two games on the offensive line as a rookie for the Seahawks last season.

Sokoli, 25, participated in Seattle's 2016 offseason program and training camp before being waived on Aug. 30.
