"After speaking with my family I have decided that I'm going to return for my senior year," the 5-foot-10, 190-pound Higdon wrote.

Higdon, who rushed for 994 yards on 164 carries this past season, enjoyed his finest performance with a 200-yard, two-touchdown effort against Minnesota.

Chris Evans was second on the team in rushing with 685 yards for Michigan, which opens its 2018 season at Notre Dame on Sept. 1.
