COL FB: Clemson 40, Maryland 27

COLLEGE PARK, Md., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Tajh Boyd threw for 204 yards and a touchdown pass Saturday and No. 10 Clemson bounced back from a tough loss last week to outlast Maryland 40-27.

Boyd went 28-of-41 through the air with an interception and Roderick McDowell sealed the victory with two late touchdown runs, finishing with 161 yards on 30 carries for the Tigers (7-1, 5-1 ACC).

Sammy Watkins set a school record with 14 catches, gaining 163 yards as Clemson shook off an Oct. 19 defeat at the hands of Florida State, which all but ended its national title hopes.

Caleb Rowe, substituting for injured starter C.J. Brown, threw three scoring passes but was held to just 19-of-45 efficiency for 282 yards with two interceptions for the Terrapins (5-3, 1-3).
