Sandusky judge: No alleged abuse timelines

BELLEFONTE, Pa., March 13 (UPI) -- A judge Tuesday dismissed a request from former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky for the specific times he allegedly abused 10 youths.

Sandusky's attorneys wanted the timelines of the alleged crimes to better prepare for his defense. The trial is scheduled to begin in May.

Centre County Common Pleas Court Judge John Cleland said while Sandusky is entitled to the timelines, if prosecutors don't have them they don't have to produce them, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Deputy Attorney General Joseph McGettigan told Cleland Monday he had produced all the information he had to the defense team, and some victims could not pin down ongoing abuse precisely.

Sandusky attorney Joseph Amendola argued that since the alleged crimes took place while many of the alleged victims were teenagers, it is reasonable to ask them when it occurred, the Inquirer said.

Sandusky denies accusations he molested at least 10 boys during a 15-year period. A grand jury said the former coach met all of his alleged victims through The Second Mile, a charity he founded in 1977 for underprivileged youths.

Accusations center on Penn State athletic events or on campus.
