COL FB: Stanford 31, California 28

STANFORD, Calif., Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Andrew Luck tossed a pair of TD passes in the third quarter Saturday and No. 9 Stanford hung on for a 31-28 victory over California.

Luck (20-for-30, 253 yards, one interception) parlayed a 14-13 Stanford lead into a 28-13 advantage with a 4-yard scoring strike to Levine Toilolo 4 minutes into the frame and a 10-yard TD toss to Ryan Hewitt with 6:23 left.

Jordan Williamson's 35-yard field goal with 3 minutes remaining in the game padded the lead for the Cardinal (10-1, 8-1), which rebounded from a loss to Oregon last week and kept its Pac-12 championship hopes alive.

With Oregon's loss to USC Saturday, the Ducks would also need to lose next week to Oregon State for Stanford to take the conference title.

Zach Maynard completed 19-of-28 passes for 278 yards and a pair of TD tosses for the Golden Bears (6-5, 3-5).
