COL FB: Northwestern 28, Nebraska 25

LINCOLN, Neb., Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Kain Colter capped an upset on a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:34 left Saturday, wrapping up Northwestern's 28-25 surprise victory over No. 9 Nebraska.

Colter took over at quarterback after Dan Persa went down with a second-quarter shoulder injury and made the most of his opportunity, completing 4-of-6 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown for Northwestern (4-5, 2-4 Big Ten).

He ran the ball 17 times for 58 yards and two scores, and also was on the receiving end of three passes for 57 yards as the Wildcats won their second straight after breaking a five-game losing streak.

Nebraska (7-2, 3-2) fell a game behind Michigan State atop the Big Ten's Legends Division with the stunning home loss.

Taylor Martinez led the Cornhuskers with 289 yards and two touchdowns on 28-of-37 passing. Rex Burkhead was held to 69 rushing yards and a TD on 22 carries.
