BATON ROUGE, La., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Jarrett Lee's 46-yard touchdown pass to Rueben Randle in the first quarter set the tone Saturday and 2nd-ranked Louisiana State beat No. 18 Florida 41-11.
The Tigers (6-0, 3-0 SEC) cruised to the win after building a 21-point halftime lead, posting their sixth straight double-digit victory.
LSU had a touchdown taken away in the first half when punter Brad Wing was on his way to the end zone on what seemed to be a sure score on a fake punt, but was whistled for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The Southeastern Conference issued a statement saying Wing was penalized for taunting opponents for briefly flapping his arms at the 8-yard line.
The Tigers settled for a field goal on that possession.
Florida (4-2, 2-2) was forced to start true freshman quarterback Jacoby Brissett due to injuries to John Brantley and Jeff Driskel -- the first time in Gators history a true freshman had taken a snap as a starter.
Brissett found Andre Debose on a 65-yard scoring pass in the third quarter for Florida's lone touchdown.
