COL FB: West Virginia 55, Bowling Green 10

MORGANTOWN, W.Va., Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Dustin Garrison amassed 291 yards on 32 carries Saturday, scoring twice in No. 23 West Virginia's 55-10 rout of Bowling Green.

The Mountaineers (4-1) spotted Bowling Green a 10-3 lead but then reeled off seven straight touchdowns.

Shawne Alston picked up 51 yards on the ground and rushed for two touchdowns for West Virginia.

Geno Smith tossed for 238 yards, connecting on three touchdowns, and Stedman Bailey hauled down four passes for 113 yards in the victory.

The Falcons (3-2) were led by Matt Schilz, who threw for 114 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. Jamel Martin rushed 23 times for 111 yards.
