COL BKB: UNLV 85, California 68

LAS VEGAS, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Anthony Marshall scored a season-best 22 points Friday that sent No. 23 Nevada-Las Vegas to an 85-68 victory over California.

The Runnin' Rebels opened a 20-point halftime lead and extended their winning streak to four games.

Marshall hit 9-of-16 shots from the field. The junior guard came within four points of his career best, established last season against Brigham Young.

Chace Stanback contributed 15 points and Mike Moser had 14 to go with eight rebounds for the Rebels (13-2).

Nevada-Las Vegas owns victories this year over nationally-ranked North Carolina and Illinois. Its last loss came Dec. 10 at No. 14 Wisconsin.

Justin Cobbs had 20 points for California (10-3), which had a four-game winning streak snapped.
