Bill Snyder: 76-year old Kansas State coach gets Twitter

MANHATTAN, Kan., April 25 (UPI) -- A football coach who was alive before the invention of the desktop computer is now on Twitter.

Kansas State's Bill Snyder joined the social media network Monday. The 76-year-old also posted his first tweet.

"So very proud of the young men in our program for their effort and commitment to improve during the off season & throughout spring practice," Snyder tweeted from his @coachbillsnyder account.

Snyder's inaugural tweet already had nearly 600 likes and more than 200 retweets, after six hours.

The coach is following 12 people, mostly associated with the Wildcats program.

In 24 seasons at Kansas State, Snyder has posted a 193-101-1 record. Snyder's teams have seven bowl wins in 17 appearances, but have lost six of its last seven post-season appearances.
