Louisiana State a unanimous No. 1

MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Louisiana State is a unanimous No. 1 in the USA Today coaches football poll.

The Tigers improved to 9-0 with a taut 9-6 overtime victory Saturday over previous No. 2 Alabama. That was enough to convince all 59 coaches on the USA Today panel to put LSU first in the voting. It is the first time this season there is a unanimous No. 1 team in college football.
