COL BKB: Duke 79, Wake Forest 71

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Ryan Kelly scored 23 points, including 5-of-6 tries from 3-point range, to lead third-ranked Duke past Wake Forest 79-71.

The victory earned the Blue Devils (26-4, 13-2 ACC) a perfect road record in conference play and some momentum heading into Saturday's season-finale against rival North Carolina.

Mason Plumlee scored 12 for Duke and Austin Rivers added 10.

Wake Forest (13-16, 4-11) did not make it easy for Duke. The Demon Deacons whittled a 23-point deficit in the second half to six points with fewer than 5 minutes to play.

Tony Chennault and Nikita Mescheriakov led Wake with 19 points apiece. The Deacons were outrebounded 38-26 and were a modest 6-of-17 from 3-point range.
