2022 awards show schedule: How to watch

Jan. 28 (UPI) -- The American Music Awards, People's Choice Awards and other awards shows will return in 2022 to honor the best in film, television, music and more.

Here are the details on this year's awards shows:

American Music Awards - Nov. 20

The American Music Awards is a fan-voted awards show celebrating the year's top achievements in music.

This year's ceremony will take place Nov. 20 at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and air at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

Bad Bunny leads the nominees with eight nominations, including Artist of the Year. The singer and rapper will compete with Adele, Beyoncé, Drake, Harry Styles, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd in the category.

Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Drake follow with six nominations each.

Wayne Brady will host the awards show. Performers have yet to be announced.

Soul Train Awards - Nov. 26

The Soul Train Awards is held by BET and celebrates "the brightest stars in Black culture and entertainment." The awards show also showcases the impact of Soul Train on music and dance from the '70s to today.

This year's ceremony took place Nov. 13 at Apollo Theater in Las Vegas, and will air Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. EST on BET, BET Her, Logo, MTV2 and VH1. Deon Cole hosts the event.

J. Valentine, Ari Lennox, Chanté Moore, Muni Long, SiR and Tank will perform, while JB Smoove, Lucky Daye, Mark Tallman, Michelle Mitchenor and Queen Naija will present awards.

Morris Day & The Time will be honored with the Legend Award, while Xscape will receive the Lady of Soul Award.

People's Choice Awards - Dec. 9

The People's Choice Awards is a fan-voted awards show recognizing stars in music, TV, movies and more.

This year's ceremony will take place Dec. 9 at Barker Hangar in Los Angeles and air at 9 p.m. EST on NBC and E!

Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson will host the event for his second consecutive year.

Bad Bunny leads the nominees with seven nominations, while Harry Styles is up for six awards. The two will compete for Male Artist of 2022, Song of 2022, Album of 2022 and Music Video of 2022.

Luke Combs, Selena Gomez, Lizzo and Charlie Puth follow with four nominations each.

Performers have yet to be announced.
