April 4 (UPI) -- An airplane circled over the BB&T Center Monday in South Florida calling for the firing of the Florida Panthers' coach.

Former general manager Tom Rowe, 60, took over as the Panthers' coach in November after the franchise mysteriously fired Gerald Gallant.

While the Panthers are idle Tuesday and Wednesday, that didn't stop the high-flying fan from showing how he felt about Rowe.

The fan flew an airplane over the Panthers' home arena Monday in Sunrise with a banner behind that read: "Rowe must go! Call him a cab!" The Panthers later fell 4-1 to the Montreal Canadiens.

The banner referenced when the Panthers' former coach had to hail a cab outside of the PNC Arena last year following his firing and a loss to the Carolina Hurricanes for its fifth consecutive setback.

Gallant led the Panthers to a resurgence after becoming coach in 2014. In his first year, the team was 38-29-15. In his second season, the Panthers won the NHL Atlantic Division.

He was let go just 21 games into the 2016 campaign. Rowe is 22-26-10 this season as the Panthers sit at sixth place in the Atlantic. Now the fans want Rowe out and it appears like they are getting their wish.

On Monday, unnamed sources told the Miami Herald that Rowe will not be back as coach next season. Another unnamed source confirmed the news with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

The Panthers have had 14 head coaches in its 24-year history as a franchise.
