"Boys I got one thing to say. Thanks for making my son's birthday happy," Frost said.

The players celebrated the news by screaming, jumping and embracing their coach.

Frost also spoke about the arrival of his seven-pound son after Wednesday's practice. His wife Ashley delivered the baby boy early on Wednesday morning at Florida Hospital for Women.

"It's just an unbelievable experience," Frost said, according to UCFSports.com. "Everyone that has one understands but I didn't really understand until it happened. Man, what a beautiful experience to go through watching the birth of your child. I feel blessed and lucky I was able to be there to watch it."

Scott said that his son did not yet have a name, but 'Jack' might make sense heading into the holiday season.

The Knights beat SMU 31-24 on Saturday at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in University Park, Texas. UCF is currently ranked No. 12 in the Coaches Poll and No. 18 in the College Football Playoff Rankings.

"Looks like a future baller," Frost said, according to the UCF Football Twitter account. "We'll be working on him."
