Notre Dame football landed prized quarterback recruit Phil Jurkovec, the top dual-threat passer in the Class of 2018.

Fighting Irish coach Brian Kelly has had a golden touch with quarterbacks on the recruiting trail, including Everett Golson, Gunner Kiel, Malik Zaire, DeShone Kizer and Brandon Wimbush. With the exception of five-star recruit Kiel in 2012 (he transferred multiple times), all were four-star recruits.

The Gibsonia-Pine (Pa.) sophomore quarterback was widely expected to opt for Ohio State or Alabama, but he told 247 Sports on Monday that he would be in South Bend.

"I came up here with the intent of committing," Jurkovec said. "It's the right fit for me. The whole education of Notre Dame from the books to the spirituality, the whole university and everything that it offers-I just fell in love with it."
