Ohio State football: Buckeyes' Jalin Marshall, Eli Apple enter NFL draft

Two more Ohio State Buckeyes on Monday decided to leave Columbus for the NFL.

Wide receiver Jalin Marshall and cornerback Eli Apple announced their decisions via Twitter. They became the sixth and seventh Ohio State players from this year's Fiesta Bowl-winning team to leave school early.

Quarterback Cardale Jones, running back Ezekiel Elliott, linebacker Darron Lee, defensive end Joey Bosa and safety Tyvis Powell previously said they were leaving.

Marshall caught 36 passes this past year for 477 yards and five touchdowns as the Buckeyes' top hybrid threat. He is the 11th-ranked wide receiver according to Dane Brugler of NFLdraftscout.com

Apple ended up in Columbus thanks to Jim Tressel.

He was a starter on the Buckeyes' national title team last season. For his career, he compiled 86 total tackles, 7.5 for loss, four interceptions and 10 passes broken up.

NFLdraftscout.com ranks Apple as the sixth-best cornerback available.

Two other key members of this year's team -- wide receiver Michael Thomas and safety Vonn Bell -- have yet to announce their decision. NFLdraftscout.com ranks Thomas as the third-best wide receiver and Bell as the second-best safety.
