SOUTH BEND, Ind., Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Quarterback coach and ESPN analyst George Whitfield Jr. is denying reports that Notre Dame redshirt junior quarterback Everett Golson has reached out to transfer to LSU..

Golson, who wasn't allowed to play the 2013 season for the Irish because he was suspended for the 2013 fall term for using "poor judgment on a test," worked with Whitfield Jr. during his time away from the team.

The news of Golson's possible transfer came less than a week after Notre Dame defeated LSU 31-28 in the Music City Bowl.

Shortly after transfer reports came out, Golson responded with a tweet saying "Don't believe everything you hear...."

If Golson were to transfer, he would be eligible to play immediately.

A Baton-Rouge television station also reported that Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller could be "headed to LSU."

Golson told Irish Illustrated's Pete Sampson that he will return to Notre Dame and graduate in May.
