PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 16 (UPI) -- Shawn Moffitt's 24-yard field goal at the gun was the difference in 19th-ranked Central Florida's 39-36 win over Temple Saturday.
Moffitt had three field goals in the game, including a 35-yard boot as time expired in the first half that gave the Knights (8-1, 5-0 American) a 22-21 edge over the plucky Owls (1-9, 0-6).
Temple took a 36-29 lead with 2:04 to play in the game on a 7-yard TD catch by Chris Prathemore, but UCF scored on their next possession on a 30-yard scoring pass to J.J. Worton to tie the game.
The Knights then forced Temple to punt and marched from their own 30 to within field goal range with a big boost from a 64-yard pass completion to Rannell Hall.
Blake Bortles completed 27-of-38 passes for 404 yards and four touchdowns for UCF. Storm Johnson ran for 122 yards.
Temple's P.J. Walker also completed four TD passes and threw for 382 yards.
