COL FB: Minnesota 34, Nebraska 23

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Philip Nelson threw two touchdown passes and ran for two scores in Minnesota's 34-23 upset of No. 21 Nebraska Saturday.

Nelson completed 7-of-15 passes for 152 yards and Mitch Leidner added a rushing touchdown for Minnesota (6-2, 2-2 Big Ten), who withstood a 10-point fourth quarter for the Cornhuskers (5-2, 2-1).

David Cobb carried 31 times for Minnesota. The Gophers churned out 271 yards on the ground.

Ameer Abdullah ran 19 times for 165 yards for Nebraska. Taylor Martinez completed 16-of-30 passes for 165 yards threw an interception.

The game was tied 10-10 at halftime but Nebraska was limited to a touchdown catch by Sam Cotton and a Pat Smith field goal in the second half.
