COL FB: Louisiana State 37, Texas Christian 27

ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Terrence Magee ran for 95 yards and two scores Saturday, pushing No. 13 Louisiana State past No. 20 Texas Christian 37-27 in both school's season opener.

Zach Mettenberger completed 16-of-32 passes for 251 yards and a touchdown as the Tigers (1-0) got off to a winning start to the 2013 season after ending last season with a 25-24 loss to Clemson in the Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Waymon James and B.J. Catalon each logged rushing touchdowns for the Horned Frogs (0-1).

TCU also had ended last season on a losing note, 17-16 to Michigan State in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl.
