COL FB: Florida State 30, South Florida 17

TAMPA, Fla., Sept. 29 (UPI) -- E.J. Manuel sparked a third-quarter outburst with a touchdown pass to Kevin Haplea Saturday and No. 4 Florida State went on to best South Florida 30-17.

Manuel's 1-yard scoring toss ignited a run of 17 straight points over a 5-minute span for the Seminoles (5-0), who had been clinging to a 13-10 advantage.

After a field goal, linebacker Christian Jones iced FSU's victory with a 12-yard touchdown return on a fumble recovery.

Manuel finished with 241 yards on 19-of-26 passing efficiency.

Rashad Greene contributed 71 receiving yards and added a 10-yard touchdown run for the Seminoles.

South Florida (2-3) was led by B.J. Daniels, who compiled 72 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
