COL FB: Louisiana State 12, Auburn 10

AUBURN, Ala., Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Drew Alleman connected on a 30-yard field goal with 5:26 left in the game Saturday, boosting second-ranked Louisiana State to a 12-10 win over Auburn.

The kick was the decisive play in a low-scoring affair that saw LSU's defense hold Auburn to 183 total yards and force three turnovers.

Zach Mettenberger managed 169 yards on 15-of-27 passing efficiency for the Tigers (4-0, 1-0 SEC), who defeated their 16th straight unranked opponent.

Spencer Ware ran for 90 yards with a score on 16 carries and made a pair of receptions for 44 yards for the winners.

Auburn (1-3, 0-2) was led by Kiehl Frazier, who completed 13-of-22 passes for just 97 yards and two interceptions.
