TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Sept. 8 (UPI) -- EJ Manuel hurled a trio of touchdown passes Saturday and sixth-ranked Florida State blasted Savannah State 55-0 in a rain-shortened game.
Manuel connected on 11-of-13 passes for 161 yards, with Rodney Smith collecting three of them for 77 yards and a touchdown for the Seminoles (2-0).

The game was called off with 8:59 remaining in the third quarter due to heavy rain and lightning after experiencing an earlier delay in the second quarter.
The Seminoles have outscored their opponents by a 116-3 margin over their first two contests.
The Tigers (0-2) were led by Sheldon Barnes, who gained 34 rushing yards on 11 carries.
