CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Tajh Boyd hurled a trio of touchdowns Saturday for the 21st-ranked Clemson Tigers, who secured an Orange Bowl bid with a 38-10 victory over No. 3 Virginia Tech.
Boyd tossed for 240 yards and added a 1-yard rushing touchdown for Clemson (10-3), which won the ACC championship game and claimed its first conference title since 1991.
Andre Ellington ran for 125 yards and a score, DeAndre Hopkins made seven catches for 92 yards and Sammy Watkins came down with three receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown for the victors.
Virginia Tech (11-2), meanwhile, couldn't get on track as ACC Offensive Player of the Year David Wilson was held to just 32 yards on 11 carries.
Logan Thomas went 22-of-44 through the air for 274 yards with a touchdown but was picked off twice in the fourth quarter for the Hokies.
