PHILADELPHIA, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- The first lawsuit filed in the child sex abuse scandal at Penn State accuses former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky of molesting an alleged victim 100 times.

The plaintiff, who did not reveal his identity, alleges Sandusky began molesting him when he was 10 years old and carried on the abuse in the 1990s.

The man also claims Sandusky threatened to hurt the boy's family if he ever told anyone about the abuse, ABC News reported.

The plaintiff's lawyer, Jeff Anderson, said the alleged victim was abused by Sandusky from 1992 to 1994. He said that Sandusky paid for sports camps, plied the boy with gifts and took him on trips.

The lawsuit filed Wednesday in Philadelphia named Sandusky as a defendant along with the university and Sandusky's The Second Mile charity. Sandusky faces criminal charges of molesting eight young boys he met through the charity.

"I never told anybody what he did to me over 100 times at all kinds of places until the newspapers reported that he had abused other kids," the plaintiff said in a written statement. "The people at Penn State and Second Mile didn't do the things they should have to protect me and the other kids."

The Philadelphia Inquirer said additional suits are expected from other alleged victims. Penn State had no immediate comment on Wednesday's suit, which contends the alleged abuse sometimes occurred on school property.
