FORT WORTH, Texas, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Greg McCoy returned the second-half kickoff for a touchdown Saturday and No. 23 Texas Christian posted a 38-17 win over Louisiana-Monroe.
McCoy's 94-yard return gave TCU (2-1) a 28-17 lead and the Horned Frogs converted a fumble recovery on the ensuing possession into a one-yard TD run by Wayman James to ice the victory in their home opener.
Casey Pachall went 15-of-23 through the air for 204 yards with no interceptions and a TD toss to Josh Boyce (7 catches, 134 yards).
Matthew Tucker carried the ball 15 times for 66 yards and a score for TCU, which logged its 21st straight home win.
Kolton Browning completed 24-of-37 passes for 194 yards, no pick-offs and a touchdown for the Warhawks (1-2).
Brent Leonard made 13 grabs for 92 yards and a score in the loss.
