COL FB: Ohio State 27, Toledo 22

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- The second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes remained undefeated Saturday by holding off a game Toledo team 27-22.

Ohio State (2-0), which blew out Akron last week, made a final defensive stand that kept the Rockets (1-1) from pulling off the upset.

Toledo recovered an Ohio State fumble with just over 3 minutes to play and marched from their 28 to the Ohio State 16 where quarterback Terrance Owens threw an incomplete pass on fourth down with 52 seconds to play.

Owens and starter Austin Dantin combined for 292 passing yards and two touchdowns for Toledo, who had 345 yards of total offense to Ohio State's 301.

Carlos Hyde ran for 76 yards and two touchdowns for the Buckeyes. Joe Bauserman was 16-of-30 passing for 189 yards and one TD.

Toledo led 15-7 after one quarter but scored only one touchdown the rest of the way.
