COL BKB: Oregon 82, Georgetown 75

CAMP HUMPHREYS, South Korea, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Jonathan Loyd started a streak of seven free throws over the final minute Saturday that allowed No. 18 Oregon to hold off Georgetown 82-75.

The game was played at an American military installation in South Korea and began at 10 a.m. local time so that it could be televised live in the United States.

It turned into a rugged defensive battle with the Ducks going to the foul line 44 times. They made 36 of those attempts with Joseph Young going 12-of-12 while scoring 24 points.

Jason Calliste added 16 points for the Ducks and Loyd had nine.

Georgetown was led by Joshua Smith with 25 points.

The game was part of college basketball's growing salute to military veterans that has become a tradition at the start of each season.
