COL BKB: Indiana 97, Bryant 54

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Cody Zeller paced a strong shooting performance Friday that easily launched No. 1 Indiana to a 97-54 triumph over Bryant University.

Prior to the game Indiana officials announced Coach Tom Crean had signed a 2-year contract extension. The deal will keep Crean at the school through the 2019-20 season.

After Indiana had won just 28 games during Crean's first three seasons, the Hoosiers went 27-9 in 2011-12 and are now No. 1 to open a campaign for the first time in 33 years.

Zeller hit 8-of-10 shots from the field, scored 18 points and seized 10 rebounds. Indiana shot 56 percent, hit 29-of-34 from the foul line and converted 8-of-19 from 3-point range.

Indiana built a 20-point halftime lead with Christian Watford eventually scoring 14 points and both Remy Abell and Jeremy Hollowell adding 12.

Bryant was led by Alex Francis with 15.
