COL BKB: Massachusetts 72, Drexel 70

PHILADELPHIA, March 20 (UPI) -- Chaz Williams scored a game-high 20 points Tuesday and Massachusetts rallied for a 72-70 National Invitation Tournament win over Drexel.

Terrell Vinson added 18 points and Jesse Morgan contributed 13 for the fifth-seeded Minutemen (25-11), who overcame a 17-point, second-half deficit to gain the NIT semifinals.

UMass ripped off a 26-7 run and went ahead 62-60 with 7:18 remaining, then hung on down the stretch to become just the fourth team in tournament history to reach the semifinals by winning three straight on the road.

They next play March 27 in Madison Square Garden against the winner of Wednesday's Nevada-Stanford match-up.

Dartaye Ruffin delivered 17 points and seven rebounds to lead the third-seeded Dragons (29-7).

Frantz Massenat added 16 points and a game-high nine assists for Drexel.
