COL BKB: Massachusetts 77, Seton Hall 67

NEWARK, N.J., March 17 (UPI) -- Chaz Williams put in 20 points Saturday and fifth-seeded Massachusetts ousted No. 1 seed Seton Hall with a 77-67 National Invitational Tournament win.

Williams also handed out six assists as the Minutemen (24-11) moved on to the NIT quarterfinals, where they will face the winner of Sunday's Drexel-Northern Iowa game.

Raphiael Putney contributed 15 points and eight rebounds while Terrell Vinson donated 10 points and Sean Carted supplied 11 and 11 rebounds for UMass.

Seton Hall (21-13) was stymied by poor shooting, hitting just 35 percent from the field.

Fuquan Edwin led the Pirates 21 points and Jordan Theodore added 14 in the loss.
