COL BKB: Kansas 59, Kansas State 53

MANHATTAN, Kan., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Tyshawn Taylor scored 20 points Monday and fifth-ranked Kansas racked up its 11th straight win with a 59-53 triumph over intrastate rival Kansas State.

Taylor added five rebounds and five blocks while Jeff Withey contributed 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Jayhawks (21-5, 11-2 Big 12).

Kansas led by as many as 10 points with 4 minutes remaining but the Wildcats went on a 10-4 run, capped by Rodney McGruder's jumper, to get within 55-51 with 1:18 left.

Thomas Robinson and Conner Teahan each sank a pair of free throws in the closing seconds to secure the win for Kansas.

Jamar Samuels finished with 20 points and 12 boards for the Wildcats (17-8, 6-6) while McGruder chipped in with 12 and eight.
