The Seahawks held a four-point halftime lead and stayed in front the rest of the way.

Pittsburgh gave itself a chance when Dante Taylor scored on a tip-in with 8 seconds to go, cutting the Wagner lead to 57-54. Rivers, however, closed out an 18-point effort by hitting his two foul shots.

He made all six of his attempts from the line.

The Panthers (11-2) had won nine in a row since their only other loss of the season, which came against Long Beach State. Pittsburgh opens its Big East Conference campaign Tuesday at Notre Dame.
