LAS VEGAS, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Harrison Barnes led North Carolina with 21 points Friday and the No. 1 Tar Heels forced 25 turnovers in routing South Carolina 87-62.
The Tar Heels (5-0) reached the championship game of the Las Vegas Invitational, where they will meet Nevada-Las Vegas Saturday.
North Carolina began the game on a 19-4 run and was dominant in all phases. P.J. Hairston came off the bench to score 19 points and John Henson added 18 points to go with eight rebounds.
Kendall Marshall had 13 assists, the third time in five games he has had a double digit assist total.
While taking the ball away from the Gamecocks 25 times, North Carolina committed only 10 turnovers.
South Carolina (2-3) got 15 points from Damien Leonard and 13 from R.J. Slawson.
