COL BKB: California 77, Cal-Irvine 56

BERKELEY, Calif., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Allen Crabbe hit four 3-pointers Friday, scored 24 points and led No. 24 California to a 77-56 victory over California-Irvine.

Crabbe had just two rebounds and did not attempt a free throw, but he was the dominant player while getting the Golden Bears off to a good start. He was named freshman of the year last season in what was then the Pac-10 Conference.

California built a quick 13-2 lead and was never threatened. The Bears owned a 25-point advantage at the break and limited the Anteaters to 39 percent shooting.

Jorge Gutierrez added 11 points for California and Harper Kamp had 10.

Chris McNealy scored 14 for California-Irvine.
