HONORS FOR DIANE LANE

Diane Lane ("Unfaithful," "The Perfect Storm") will be honored in New York on Dec. 12 by the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Turner Classic Movie channel host Robert Osborne will emcee the event -- "Always a Natural: An Evening With Diane Lane" -- which will feature an onstage interview and clips from Lane's movies. The 37-year-old Lane has made more than three dozen movies -- beginning with the 1979 comedy "A Little Romance." Her film resume also includes "The Outsiders" (1983), "Rumble Fish" (1983), "The Cotton Club" (1984) and "A Walk on the Moon" (1999). She starred in the 1989 TV miniseries "Lonesome Dove" and the 1995 TV movie "A Streetcar Named Desire."

ANOTHER HOLE IN THE WALL

Stars came out for seriously ill kids at a benefit in Hollywood Monday to raise money for the Painted Turtle Camp -- the newest member of Paul Newman's Association of the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps. Warren Beatty, Annette Bening, Matt Damon, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, Tom Hanks, Goldie Hawn, Jack Nicholson, Edward James Olmos, Julia Roberts and Bruce Willis joined Newman and his wife, actress Joanne Woodward, on the stage at the Kodak Theatre for a performance of "The World of Nick Adams." The Painted Turtle Camp -- in Lake Hughes, Calif., just north of Los Angeles -- is the sixth camp to join the Hole In The Wall Gang Camp association. Newman founded the camp organization to provide people "of privilege" an opportunity to give "some few weeks for these young people where they could be together, establish a common bonding under the umbrella of an old-fashioned camp experience." The Kodak performance featured the music of Aaron Copland, played by 32 members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. It was co-produced by Lou Adler, who founded The Painted turtle Camp with his wife Page Hannah-Adler. Beginning in 2003, the camp plans to provide a "meaningful, medically safe camp experience" for 1,000 children ages 7 to 16 suffering from chronic or life-threatening illnesses -- at no cost to the child or his or her family. Activities include swimming, fishing, arts and crafts projects, horseback riding and basketball.

LANDING IN CLOVER

Not only has Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell been acquitted on charges of stealing some of the late Diana's items, he's also getting a TV show to boot. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Burrell has signed a deal with the British production company Ludus Entertainment to host "What the Butler Saw" -- described as a daytime quiz show targeted at U.S. viewers. The show will test contestants' knowledge of scandals involving the rich and famous -- with a special emphasis on royalty, celebrities and politicians. Burrell -- who was famously acquitted last Friday after a last-minute intervention by Queen Elizabeth -- reportedly will meet next week with executives from several U.S. networks, including ABC and Fox, to pitch the show.

THE KID TAKES A WIFE

Producer Robert Evans -- whose Hollywood career was chronicled earlier this year in the documentary "The Kid Stays in the Picture" -- got married last weekend on a beach in Mexico, according to gossip columnist Liz Smith. The 72-year-old Evans ("The Godfather," "Love Story"), married 34-year-old former Versace model Leslie Ann Woodward, said Smith. It's his sixth marriage, and her first. Evans was previously married to Sharon Hugueny, Ali MacGraw, Phyllis George, Camilla Sparv and Catherine Oxenberg. Smith said the wedding was rather elaborate -- featuring 50 serenading mariachis on horseback. The guest list included actor Matthew McConaughey, O.J. Simpson lawyer Robert Shapiro and Variety chief Peter Bart.
