The Vancouver Canucks acquired young forward Jonathan Dahlen from the Ottawa Senators in a trade that sent veteran winger Alex Burrows to Ottawa, the Canucks announced Monday. Dahlen, 19, has registered 41 points (24 goals, 17 assists) with Timra of Sweden-2 this season. He also had five goals and an assist in seven games for Sweden at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Dahlen was selected by Ottawa in the second round of the 2016 draft.
The 35-year-old Burrows was an unrestricted free agent, but he signed a two-year contract extension for $2.5 million.
Burrows has been slowed by hip problems the past two seasons, but he has nine goals and 11 assists in 55 games this season.
"Jonathan is a very skilled player with natural goal scoring instincts," Canucks general manager Jim Benning said in a statement. "He's had a terrific season playing in Sweden and was a big part of Sweden's offense at the World Juniors. His offensive upside combined with his willingness to go to difficult areas of the ice will make him a valuable player for our organization moving forward.
