Nicklaus has designed golf courses for Trump in the past. He pledged his vote for his associate on 'CBS Sunday Morning.'

Despite preemptively responding that he didn't "want to get political, Nicklaus putted away with his opinion on Trump.

"I like what Donald has done. I like that he's turning America upside down," Nicklaus told Jim Axelrod on 'CBS Sunday Morning.' "He's awakening the country. We need a lot of that."

Still, Nicklaus, 76, said that Trump has more to learn.

"Is he a political? Is he as smooth and politically correct as he should be? Probably not," Nicklaus said. "But he'll learn. He's not stupid. He didn't get where he is being dumb."

"I like the guy. He's a good man," Nicklaus said. "And certainly — if he's the one that's on the ticket, I'll be voting for him."
