Kenny 'Thrill' leaving Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Just one year after the Johnny 'Football' Manziel hysteria took over College Station under center for Texas A&M, sophomore Kenny Hill took the reins and appeared to fill Manziel's shoes nicely. But on Thursday, Hill asked for asked for his release from the school and is expected to transefer, according to ESPN's Travis Haney.

Hill completed 66 percent of his passes for 2,649 yards, 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions in eight games for the Aggies before being replaced by freshman Kyle Allen after a suspension.

Haney reported TCU as a "likely destination" for Haney. The Aggies (8-5) started 5-0 behind Hill, but lost three straight to lead to his benching. Haney also reported that the Aggies are expected to sign Kyler Murray.

Hill would have to sit out one season if he transfers, but would have two years of eligibility left. Junior Trevone Boykin led the Horned Frogs to a 12-1 record this season.
