IRVING, Texas, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Alabama holds the top spot heading into a showdown with Auburn and Florida State still has the No. 2 position in Sunday's Bowl Championship Series poll.

Two-time defending national champion Alabama (11-0, .9881) has the most difficult task of the top teams next weekend, taking on Auburn in their annual Iron Bowl matchup.

The Tigers (10-1, .8236), meanwhile, jumped two spots to No. 4 following upset losses by Baylor and Oregon Saturday.

Florida State (11-0, .9697) is still a solid No. 2, but saw its lead over Ohio State shrink a bit. The Seminoles have a lead of .497 percentage points over the Buckeyes -- down from a .792 difference last week.

FSU next plays a struggling Florida Gators squad.

The Buckeyes (11-0, .9200) picked up some ground with a victory over Indiana. Their upcoming schedule includes a visit to Michigan followed by game against No. 11 Michigan State in the Dec. 7 Big Ten championship game.

Missouri (10-1, .8077) climbed three spots to No. 5 following a road win over Mississippi. They next meet No. 21 Texas A&M.
