Teammate Mark Barr, a wide receiver from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Sean Van Dyne, a freshman at Miami University, were in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Javon Harrison, another UC wide receiver, had improved to fair condition.

Two of the students were thrown from the vehicle in the accident in rural Butler County about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Butler County deputies said. The other two athletes were trapped in the car.

Flick was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies did not identify the students who were trapped and those ejected from the vehicle.

Investigators have not determined who was driving.
