AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 1 (UPI) -- David Ash racked up 343 passing yards and tossed four TD passes Saturday, propelling No. 15 Texas to a 56-7 season-opening rout of New Mexico State.

Ash completed 20-of-28 pass attempts and added 91 rushing yards with a score on eight carries as the Longhorns (1-0) opened the 2013 season with a lopsided victory.

Malcolm Brown, Daje Johnson, Mike Davis and John Harris each hauled in a scoring strike and Jalen Overstreet chipped in with two rushing touchdowns for Texas.

The Aggies (0-1) got 242 passing yards on 32-of-46 efficiency from Andrew McDonald, who threw for a touchdown and was intercepted once.
